Scripts
In Scripts mode you share your own local programs. They can be started manually and – if enabled – made available to the AI as a tool.
Creating a Script
- Switch mode – click Scripts in the sidebar.
- New script – create one via the new button or New script.
- Choose a path – choose or enter the path to the executable script via browse. The app immediately shows whether the path exists.
- Description & arguments – define the purpose and optional arguments.
- Enable – only enabled scripts are available to the AI.
Fields & Arguments
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name | Display name of the script. |
| Path to script | Full path to the executable file or script. |
| Description | Explains to the AI what the script is good for. |
| Enabled | Makes the script available to the AI. |
Arguments are passed in the order $1, $2, …:
- Name – technical identifier.
- Label – display in the run dialog.
- Required – whether a value is mandatory.
- Default value – preset when nothing is entered.
Running a Script
The Run button opens a dialog that prompts for the defined arguments. Afterwards the app shows:
- Command – what was actually executed.
- Output – the script's console output.
- Exit code – the process's return value.
Scripts as an AI Tool
Enabled scripts are available to the AI via the script_list and script_run tools. The AI can select a suitable script and determine the arguments itself. In workflows you can instead set a fixed value, the workflow input or an AI-determined value per argument.
Tip
A meaningful description improves the hit rate: phrase it like a
tool purpose ("Extracts page numbers from a PDF file").
